Giving Kefir a try

Something else to get used to

I had ran out of pro-biotics last week and started using Kefir to supplement.  One problem:  Joshua doesn’t like it.   He hates it, in fact and takes his CLO without a fuss but pitches a fit with the Kefir.  I give it to him in a syringe and am able to now, get it down him.  However, the last three days, he has had massive diarrhea and I’m not sure if it’s from the Keifir or not.  He had started having well formed stools before me running out of the Florastor Kids.  Since the Kefir is milk based, and despite only giving him 1 tsp. 3 times a day, I stopped giving it to him and will see if that helps, while letting him eat all the bananas he wants.  However, he has also been eating oranges like they are going out of style.  I don’t know what else could be causing it.  The only other difference is I had attempted to make sauerkraut (which I had never made before) and added some to his pancakes and then cooked it in it due to it having natural probiotic properties.  I ate some and it tasted all right to me but I’m just paranoid enough to wonder if I did it wrong.  I’ve cut out both and will talk with Anneke tomorrow, if I can or put a post in on the Yahoo GAPS site.  Perhaps I will go ahead and order some more Florastor once I get paid.  However, I still owe for the last batch.  I’m just tired of spending the money because it continues to be tight.
